Robidoux Selected To Canada West Roster

Players named to the Team Canada West selection camp roster were selected from the CJHL’s five western Junior A leagues: the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) and Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL).

Bengert and Pistons Defeat First Place Terriers
It was only the fourth loss in 26 games for the defending Canadian champion Terriers, who are having their second straight banner season. The third place Pistons, for that matter, are no slouch either as they improve to 17-6-2 on the season and to within three points of the second place Winkler Flyers.
Tyler Penner and his linemates took care of all the scoring last night for the Pistons as Dan Taillefer and Cole Smith each assisted on Penner's two goals and then Smith, with his 11th of the campaign, also added an empty netter for a three-point outing. Penner also drew an assist on the Smith goal for a three-point game as the line had eight points in total. The Pistons played with that 2-0 lead until the Terriers finally got on the board when Chase Brakel beat Roman Bengert with 5:35 left in the third. Bengert was again outstanding in net for the Pistons making 32 saves. Steinbach outshot Portage 36-33 in the contest.
GDI Goaltender Roman Bengert again played outstanding as he made 32 saves on the night and Pistons Head Coach Paul Dyck knows Bengert is starting to fully hit his stride. "(He) managed the game very well today, I thought he ate pucks when he needed to and made some key saves. The save he made on (Brett) Orr was as good as it gets, if TSN was here, it might be on the highlight reel tonight. It's becoming the norm with Roman and in games like this you need your goalie to step up and he did."

It was another busy week for GDI as there were multiple minor hockey clinics throughout the week as well as week 4 of the Total GDI In-Season Academy.
GDI also attended many team practices to work with GDI Goalies.
GDI is looking forward to working with all of the goalies for the current hockey season.
