Wake up, start your week, and dive into the Monday Morning GDI Goalie News! Who stopped the most shots… which netminder rebounded from a tough loss… who had the best performance of the week?
Look below, get your goalie fix to start the week. Here we go!
Mid-Season Tuneup Camps:
As the hockey season wears on, a goaltender’s focus naturally drifts as the intense training of the summer time gets farther in the rear view mirror. This is the perfect time for a GDI Midseason Tune-up. This camp refreshes the goaltenders mind and muscle memory. Timed with the Christmas layoff, this provides goalies with an outstanding refresher course just before the stretch run to the playoffs.
GDI will be offering 3 separate locations over the Christmas break for these camps.
Dec. 27: Brandon, MB - Brandon Sportsplex
Dec. 27: Russell, MB - Russell Multiplex
Dec. 28,29,30: Winnipeg, MB - The Rink Training Centre
Book your spots as soon as possible as the camps will fill up quickly.

Edmonds Making A Difference For Prince George
Prince George netminder Ty Edmonds was stellar in the Prince George net, especially in the third period when Kelowna outshot the Cougars 16-4 but could not tie the game.
The Rockets jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on Prince George in the first period as Nick Merkley scored his 10th of the season just 35 seconds into the game. Justin Kirkland added his 9th of the season midway through the first and the Rockets took a 2-0 lead into the dressing room.
But the Cougars took the game over in the second, scoring four times to take the lead. The Rockets were 1-for-8 on the power play while the Cougars were 1-for-3. Jackson Whistle took the loss in net.

Archibald Shuts Out Former Team
Brian Archibald suited up against one of his former teams when he made his first start for the Winnipeg Blues.
Archibald didn't disappoint as he didn't allow a single shot past him and was named the game's first star.
Archibald turned aside 28 shots as the Winnipeg Blues beat the host Dauphin Kings 4-0.
Archibald has been training with GDI for over 5 years taking part in the Total GDI Academy, GDI Summer Camps and 1v1 lessons.
Petit Comes Up Big
It took a second period power play for the Waywayseecappo Wolverines to finally solve Mario Petit Saturday Night but that's all they would be able to get by the rookie goalie.
Petit finished the game with 26 saves as the Steinbach Pistons defeated the Wolverines 3-1.
Petit has been training with GDI for many years taking part in the Total GDI Academy and 1v1 lessons.
Mowat Shuts The Door
Brittni Mowat shut the door as Bemidji State topped Minnesota State 2-0.
"I thought Brittni was outstanding for us," Scanlan said of his goaltender. "She didn't get a lot of work in the first, but she was really busy in second and third. She came up with key stops."

Mowat has been working with GDI for years going through many 1v1 lessons.
Transcona Minor Hockey
GDI was in Transcona Sunday morning to run a clinic for Transcona Minor Hockey.
All the goalies that attended were pushed through a PSM circuit and multiple tactical drills.
GDI looks forward to working with all the local goalies again in the near future.
