Goaltender Nick Deery of the Steinbach Pistons, who was a runner-up for this award in January, took his game to another level in February, reflected in a heady 6-2 record, highlited by a pair of shutouts. Deery, 20, posted an outstanding 1.50 GAA and .952 save percentage. In turn Nick Deery was awarded the Goaltender of the Month Award for February, and in addition recently recieved the Goaltender of the Year Award and was placed on the 1st All-Star Team for the league. Runner up for the award is 20 year old league veteran Brian Archibald. For the month of February he held a record of 4-1 for the Winnipeg Blues and brought his GAA to 2.7 and Save Percentage to .906. Deery has been training with GDI for over 2 years through 1v1 lessons and the Total GDI Academy. GDI Instructor Dan Ferguson is also the goaltending coach for the Steinbach Pistons.
