Both Alex Moodie and Austin Lotz picked up wins yesterday evening. The Saskatoon Blades went up against the Brandon Wheat Kings Tuesday night. Travelling to Brandon, the Blades had rookie netminder Alex Moodie between the pipes as Makarov is now with Russia for the World Junior Camp. In a spirited affair both goaltenders faced a over 10+ shots a period as the Blades came out on top to capture a 7-5 victory. Moodie pushed out 35 of 40 on the night and now looks on to face the Moose Jaw Warriors this evening. In the U.S Division of the Western Conference the Everett Silvertips went head to head with divisional opponent the Tri-City Americans. Pelted with 46 shots, the 'Tips goaltender Austin Lotz held the fort down for his team as they held on for a 2-1 shootout victory. “I wasn’t happy with our first period,” Everett coach Mark Ferner said. “I challenged the kids. We wouldn’t have been where we were without Lotz in net. He was out best player tonight. Austin was in the zone. We needed that. He needed that.” To read more on the game reported by the Tri-City Herald Click Here.
