Tuesday Mental Training Tip
Build a practice routine. Coaches want to see a goaltender who comes to the rink prepared having an agenda for what they will be doing off the ice and on the ice. Developing a simple routine of putting your net in place and working on your movement patterns once you step on the ice will make a difference for your mindset and for how a coach thinks about your attitude. As we move into October develop a plan for what time you will be at the rink for practice, what you will do once you get there, and what you will be doing once you step on the ice. Not only will you feel like you are managing your time properly you will leave a good impression on your teams staff allowing them to focus on the players while you manage yourself.
