Entering Thursday's action, 11 SJHL goalies who had played at least 900 minutes this season had goals-against averages under 3.00, led by the 1.84 posted by the Humboldt Broncos' Matt Hrynkiw. Of that 11, seven were under 2.60. At the end of the 2011-12 regular season, eight goalies were under 3.00 - and four were under 2.60. In 2010-11, seven netminders broke the 3.00 mark and two were under 2.60. Five goalies this season had a save percentage of .925 or better, led by Hrynkiw's .940. No goalies surpassed .925 in either of the previous two campaigns. Six goalies this season had three or more shutouts, led by Hrynkiw's six.
