Rensselaer GDI Goaltender Jason Kasdorf Set For The Year
Rensselaer goaltender Jason Kasdorf last played an NCAA game a year ago, almost to the day. He was in net for six goals against before being pulled against the Johnny Gaudreau-led Boston College Eagles on Oct. 13, 2013. A shoulder injury ended his season before he could see additional game action. Fast forward a year, and after being declared “pretty much fully recovered” by Winnipeg Jets training staff member Lee Stubbs, Kasdorf had a memorable opening weekend to the 2014-15 season. The Engineers partook in the IceBreaker tournament and Kasdorf shined in net. The Engineers opened the weekend with a 3-2 upset of Notre Dame Friday night to advance to the tournament championship. Kasdorf made 31 saves in the victory, including stopping 14 of 15 shots in the third period as Notre Dame pushed for the equalizer. He finished as the game’s first star.
