Eric Williams of the Spokane Chiefs was a star in back to back games over the weekend. Williams was named the first star two days in a row.
With the Moose Jaw Warriors in town friday, Williams turned aside 24 of 25 shots for a 3-1 win. Williams stumped the Warriors power play as they couldn't get a shot past him on 6 power play attempts.
Saturday saw the arch rival Tri-City Americans pay a visit to the Chiefs.
Williams was again solid stopping 20 of 21 shots and perfect on the penalty kill for the second night in a row.
This game took overtime and a shootout for the Chiefs to defeat the Americans 2-1.
Williams stopped 3 of 5 Tri-City shootout attempts for the win.
Sunday saw the Portland Winterhawks visit the Everett Silvertips.
Austin Lotz was busy facing 38 shots in this one but the Winterhawks would be relentless in winning the game 6-2.
Despite the loss, it was a special night for Austin Lotz of the Silvertips.
The first 750 fans at the game received their own Austin Lotz bobble head doll.
Saturday night saw the Winkler Flyers travel up to The Pas to take on the OCN Blizzard.
Newly acquired Brian Archibald was between the pipes for the Blizzard and did not disappoint.
Archibald saw 41 shots fired his way and was able to stop 40 of them.
The Blizzard won this game by a score of 4-1. The win would be Archibald's first win as a member of the Blizzard.
Friday night Zac Robidoux earned first star honours as the Portage Terriers defeated the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 3-2.
The Wolverines outshot the Terriers 41-27 but Robidoux was up to the challenge stopping 39 including 16 in the final frame.
Robidoux and the Terriers killed off all 3 penalties against including one late in the third period to preserve the 3-2 win.
Evan Johnson of the Winnipeg Wild was nearly perfect this past week.
In his last 3 appearances Johnson has only given up 1 goal against posting consecutive shutouts against the Southwest Cougars and Pembina Valley Hawks.
The lone goal against came in a 4-1 win over the Yellowhead Chiefs where he stopped 36 of 37 shots.
