Reed Peters Commits To UNO:
“It feels like a dream come true” said Peters. “To know that I’ll be playing at UNO is an amazing feeling”
“I wouldn’t be here today without all the great support, encouragement and opportunity that my coaches, teammates, fans, friends and most importantly my family have given me throughout my life. I am very greatful for everything that has happened.”
“Winkler was a great place to develop as a hockey player and as a person. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” concluded Peters.
Returning for his second stint with the Flyers in 2012-2013, Peters backstopped the club during their improbably run to the post season and was outstanding in their first round playoff series against the Winnipeg Blues.
The Morden native sported a 17-12-7 record during the regular season with a 3.13 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. During the playoffs, his save percentage jumped to .939 and his goals against average fell to 2.11.

GDI Goaltender Alex Moodie Along For A Long Ride With Blades:
The Memorial Cup Host was equipped with two top goaltenders to lead their team to a strong Memorial Cup Performance.
Longtime GDI trained netminder Alex Moodie backed up Saskatoon veteran goaltender Andrey Makarov throughout the year. Moving forward year to year in an athletes career they establish themselves and mature through the experiences they go through. Well, for Moodie his involvement with the Blades was one he definitely relished from this year. With the team going to the Memorial Cup as the host and having a close chance to get to the Finals if they would have beat Portland he was able to take in the moments and in turn have an idea of what it takes to be in a National Championship tournament.
The London Knights advanced to the semi-final of the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup tournament with a 6-1 victory over the Saskatoon Blades in the tiebreaker game on Thursday night.
