GDI Summer Camps:

As the season has finished up for many minor hockey players it is now time to look forwarded to preparing for next year! In August GDI Prairies will be hosting a Summer Camp in Brandon and Winnipeg this year! To REGISTER Click Here. Program of Excellence U16 & U18 Camps This Past Weekend:

The POE Spring Camp took place over the course of 3 days from the 28-30 with 144 players competing for rostered spots on the U16 Team Manitoba and 108 girls look for a spot on Team Manitoba U18. From the camp there was a total of 19 goaltenders that have trained at GDI to prepare for the camp. The Western Canada Challenge Cup takes place in Calgary Alberta. ______________________________________________________________

Lotz Locks Down Portland To Force Game 6:

  Austin Lotz made 43 saves as the Everett Silvertips staved off elimination Saturday with a 3-2 victory over the top-seeded Portland Winterhawks in Game 5 of a first-round Western Hockey League playoff series. The Winterhawks, who finished the regular season with a league-high 117 points and 60 more than the Silvertips, still lead the series 3-2. Portland had 10+ shots each period and only seemed to get some excitement when they were on the Powerplay in the third period. The Silvertips have won two of three games played in Portland, while the Winterhawks took Games 3 and 4 in Everett, Wash., by a combined 18-7 margin. Game 6 takes place in Everett tonight. ___________________________________________________________________________

MJHL Finals Still Await... SJHL Final Set In Stone:

In the Sher-wood Division Finals the OCN Blizzard have won two straight games, and in turn seem to have all the momentum on their side as they look for two more victory's to get to the finals. Game 6 of this series goes this evening at home in OCN. The Addison Division has the Winnipeg Blues taking on the Steinbach Pistons at the T.G. Smith Centre tonight, also for Game 6. This one has been a high scoring affair, besides one game. With that being said, both teams will look to tighten up defensively as the Blues hope to force a Game 7 and Steinbach looks to finish the series.   In the SJHL the Semi-Final series' finished this past weekend. The Yorkton Terriers emerged to take down Melville and the Humbolt Broncos won in 5 to take down Flin Flon. This isn't a new stage for Humbolt as they faced the Weyburn Redwings this past year. Dawson MacAuley holds a .929 Save Percentage with an 8-3 record for Yorkton and Matt Hrynkiw holds a .935 Save Percentage for Humbolt. ___________________________________________________________________________
