Reimer Takes Down Habs and Jets:

Manitoba born James Reimer grabs his first shutout on the year (7th in career) over the Montreal Canadians. Reimer was stellar if not spectacular in besting Habs goalie Carey Price in a game that gave a small but vocal contingent from Leafs Nation plenty to cheer. Moving to 5-3 on the season, Reimer currently maintains a .929 Save Percentage and a 2.30 GAA. In his last 5 games there has been only one where he has allowed more then two goals against, and two games with less than two against. ___________________________________________________________________________

Kasdorf Awarded The ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week Award:

It was pretty much expected that Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute freshman Jason Kasdorf would win the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week award. After all, he posted two shutouts over the weekend and no matter how well a goaltender’s mates play in front of him, two shutouts … “Those are team awards,” RPI coach Seth Appert said. “Any time you have players receive individual recognition it usually coincides with team success, because one doesn’t really matter without the other. “I think Jason played very well this weekend but obviously our team played extremely well in front of him, defended hard and made it as simple as possible against those teams.” Kasdorf said “he wasn’t really sure” the award would come his way because “in the (Harvard game), there wasn’t a whole lot of shots.” It’s his second league award in three weeks, as he was Rookie of the Week two weeks ago after beating Colgate and Cornell. “It feels too,” he said of the recognition. “The team’s really been on a roll and we’re going to try to keep it going.” Kasdorf says “I try not to” look closely at his numbers but “my sisters, my fiancée and my parents keep me (apprised).” For more on this article Click Here. ___________________________________________________________________________
