In-Season Total GDI Academy:
With the new hockey season approaching the In-Season Total GDI Academy is starting to fill up.
The In-Season Total GDI Goaltending Academy is designed to support the competitive athlete. With hectic team practice and game schedules in mind, the Academy gives goaltenders the opportunity to train before school hours to help their time management and create a positive environment to succeed at both education and hockey development. In addition to on-ice development goalies will receive video analysis to constructively critique their performance in each days on-ice topic. This overall support and mentorship will help enhance game play throughout the season.
GDI offers 3 different days for the In-Season Total Academy with Tuesdays and Wednesdays at The Rink Training Centre and Fridays at Gateway arena.
Spots are filling up fast with only a few remaining. Look to book your spot as soon as possible.

Austin Lotz At Vancouver Canucks Camp
Lotz, 19, who took part in rookie camp with the Carolina Hurricanes last year, also heads to the Penticton tournament to join the Canucks after attending Prospects Development Camp with Vancouver over the summer.
The St. Adolphe, Manitoba product has been ranked by NHL Central Scouting ahead of the last two entry drafts, but remains available going into his fourth WHL season.
Lotz is coming off a career season in which he posted a 31-18-3-2 record, 2.53 goals-against average, .905 saves percentage and five shutouts for the Silvertips. For more on this article Click Here
On friday night Lotz and the Canucks took on the Edmonton Oilers prospects in Penticton, BC. Lotz was tested often as he turned aside 29 of the 33 shots sent his way through 3 periods and overtime. Lotz and the Canucks put up a great effort on the penalty kill, killing 6 of 7 penalties against. Unfortunately, the Canucks fell short to the Oilers 4-3 in overtime.
A GDI staple to the training centre, Lotz has been training with the company for over 5 years now and has taken part in GDI one-on-one personal training sessions along with the Total GDI Academy in the Off-Season where he goes through 3 different types of on-ice sessions per week and three to five Off-Ice Training sessions with our partners EL1TE Performance
Edmonds Stepping Up Between The Pipes For The Cougars
Last season Ty Edmonds was thrown into the fire as a 17 year old WHL rookie with the Prince George Cougars. Edmonds appeared in 55 of 72 games last season.
"A long-term groin injury to goalie Brett Zarowny left Edmonds on his own for most of the month of December and early January and he started 16 straight games, which drained him physically and emotionally. But there were plenty of highlights along the way. He was the CHL goaltender of the week in October, allowing just one goal with two shutouts after facing 82 shots in those three games. He played well enough to be one of four goalies invited to play in the CHL Prospects Game in January in Calgary."

Ty Edmonds has been a staple with GDI Goaltending for the past 6 years. He has gone through countless 1v1 sessions along with training in the Off-Season with our Total GDI Academy.
Kubic Posts Two Shutouts In WHL Pre-Season Action
GDI Goalie Ryan Kubic has been playing strong for the Vancouver Giants through the teams Pre-Season play.
Recently, on this past Sunday he pushed aside all 11 shots he faced through 20 minutes of play in a 5-1 loss against the Kamloops Blazers.
Next up Kubic pushed aside 17 of 17 against the Victoria Royals as the Giants went on to capture a 3-1 win. In this match up the Royals couldn’t muster a goal on their Power play as they went 0/6 on the night.
Kubic has trained with GDI for a number of years as he has gone through countless GDI 1v1 training sessions, team training with the Winnipeg Thrashers, and attending the Total GDI Academy in the Off-Season.
Hayden Dola Strong In MJHL Pre-Season Action
The Pistons outshot the Steelers 38-20 but Selkirk netminder Hayden Dola was true to the test as he stopped 36 of the 38 shots he faced.
Steinbach goaltenders Nick Deery and Hunter Ploszay both played well for the Pistons in their split duties as they each manned the pipes for 30 minutes. Deery turned aside 11 of the 12 shots he faced while Ploszay stopped all eight in his stint, in turn helping the visiting squad get the win. For more on the game click here.
1997 born GDI Goalie Hayden Dola has played great for the Steelers so far in Pre-Season play as he hopes to crack the MJHL squad this year, looking to move from playing in the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League with the Interlake Lightning to starting his Junior A career.
GDI Staff Out In Neepawa
On Friday GDI staff hit the highway to spend a weekend out in Neepawa, Manitoba.
GDI was conducting multiple daily minor hockey clinics for the minor hockey goalies of Neepawa and surrounding areas.
GDI would like to wish all the goalies that attended the clinics the best of luck in their upcoming tryouts and season.
