Spokane ChiefsAnother busy week at GDI saw some more goalies travel long distances to come work with GDI. This time a trio of goalies from Alberta made the trip to Winnipeg. Garret Hughson, Matt Berlin and Matthew Armitage of the Spokane Chiefs were put to the test. They participated in 1v1 lessons with GDI President/Spokane Chiefs goalie coach Ryan Cyr. It didn't stop there as they also went through off-ice workouts with EL1TE Performance. Hughson appeared in 21 games last season for the Chiefs posting a 7-7-2 record. The Foremost, Alberta native posted a 3.28 GAA with a SV% of .893 on the season. Matt Berlin spent last season with the Midget AAA SSAC Athletics in Edmonton, Alberta. Berlin was a 7th round draft pick of the Chiefs in 2013. Matthew Armitage attended the Edge school to play his bantam AAA. He appeared in 36 games for the Mountaineers with a 22-13 record. Armitage had a strong season with a GAA of 2.73 and a SV% of .920. He also posted an impressive 5 shutouts on the season.
