GDI Goalie Austin Lotz will be wearing new colours the next time he steps on the ice.
"The 20-year-old former Everett Silvertips goaltender and fan favorite was selected by the Medicine Hat Tigers Thursday in the WHL overage cut-down draft."
Thursday afternoon Lotz tweeted:
“(I am) very excited about being picked up by the Tigers,” Lotz said in a text message to the Herald. “They're a classy organization and I'm very happy to remain in the league that my heart is in.”
Lotz posted a 73-61-7-8 record in four seasons with Everett to go along with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .902 career save percentage.
“Austin Lotz has been a very good player here, a very good person to fans, to corporate people, (and) to teammates,” Everett general manager Garry Davidson said. “I'm really excited that it has happened."
