Henry and Fisher With 2nd Star Performances
After Virden led the first period by one goal the OCN Blizzard went to work in the second as they put a flurry of four goals past the Oil Capitals. By the games end OCN tallied up a W by a score of 7-2. OCN goaltender Alex Henry stopped a total of 33 of 35 on the night to help his team continue their march to stay in first place within the league. Currently they sit six points above the Swan Valley Stampeders. Henry pushed aside all 5 powerplays from Virden that he faced. In return for his efforts he was awarded the games 2nd star award. In the Addison Division, the Steinbach Pistons made their 5th attempt at taking a victory from the only standing Winnipeg Junior A team. As they have done in the past, the Pistons rolled to an early 2-0 lead at 2:03 of the 2nd period. After that the Blues went to town with a strong offensive strike as they fired 15 shots in the second and 13 in the third period on Kenora born Davy Fisher. Despite taking a 4-2 loss on the night Fisher did have a strong performance between the pipes as he helped the Pistons stay in the game as the score stayed at 3-2 until the last minute and a half of the game.
