This past week GDI Goaltenders were receiving MBAAA awards.

Brett Evans, Parkland Rangers - MBAAA Player of the Week Brett Evans is not only the busiest goaltender in the league — appearing in 19 of his team’s 23 games and playing almost 1,080 minutes — the 16-year-old Parkland Ranger was integral in his team’s three wins last week and has been selected Chicken Chef Player of the Week. The Grandview native posted a goals against average of 1.33 and a save percentage of .962 as he recorded home ice wins over Brandon Wheat Kings, Central Plains Capitals and Norman Northstars. Evans received consulting through GDI when he was with Team Manitoba Under 16. Josh Petersen, Brandon Wheat Kings - MBAAA Rookie of the Week Brandon Wheat Kings’ 16-year-old goaltender Josh Petersen put up a .944 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.00 as he stopped 34 of the 36 shots he faced to lead the Wheat Kings to a pair of wins. His consistency over the weekend has helped the 5-foot-11, 170-pound rookie maintain a 1.93 goals against average and .928 save percentage on the season. This week’s DEKALB Rookie of the Week has an 8-1 record, including a pair of shutouts, this season. Petersen has received GDI coaching during team practices and has attended many one-on-one training sessions at the centre.
