Calgary Hitmen run into red-hot Silvertips goaltender
The Calgary Hitmen goaltender did everything but score Saturday night. Unfortunately, the rest of his teammates were also held off the scoresheet as the Everett Silvertips beat the Hitmen 1-0 at the Dome. Josh Winquist provided all the offence ’Tips goaltender Austin Lotz would need. Lotz kicked out 25 shots to record the shutout. “I thought we had a really good third period,” Driedger said of his club, which outshot the visitors 16-3 in the final frame. “We probably deserved to have something go in. “But they’re a good team, and they played hard.” Driedger made a number of acrobatic saves to keep his team in it. None was better than the diving, larcenous glove stop he made off Winquist on another ’Tips powerplay. The hard-luck Hitmen ’tender made 26 saves and saw his record fall to 7-6-4, numbers that don’t accurately portray how well the Ottawa Senators draft pick has played this season. “I don’t really worry about it,” Driedger said of the luke-warm win-loss record. “I know how I play. If people are at the games, hopefully they’ll be impressed with what they see. “All I can focus on is stopping the puck and giving the boys the best chance to win.” For more on this article Click Here.
